90th Birthday greetings from Erlo Stegen to
Billy Graham
On behalf of Kwasizabantu Mission in
South Africa I would like to express our warmest wishes to Dr Graham on his 90th
birthday. I, together with my fellow 150 missionaries have observed with great interest,
the decades of blessing through your ministry. Some of us (including our Zulu
missionaries) were able to attend the historic Durban crusade in 1973. We admired your
bravery in insisting that there should be no segregation at the crusade.
When you were under attack you were
gracious and remained free from bitterness. You kept your integrity and God was your
defence.
You long and happy marriage to Ruth is
a testimony in this time of satanic attacks on the integrity of the family. We grieved
with you when Ruth passed away. My own wife died of cancer a few years ago and I was able
to feel the pain of the loss which you must have felt. Nevertheless, there was victory
even through that.
May the Lord raise up a whole
generation of young preachers who are on fire for God with the same fire which ignited
Billy Graham for a generation. We are thankful for Franklin and others and we pray for
many more.
Mr Graham, we salute you as a hero of
the Gospel!
