INVITATION TO MINISTERS' CONFERENCE 2000

Theme: "SEPARATING DROSS FROM THE SILVER AND GOLD"

"Remove the dross from the silver, and out comes material for the silversmith.”
(Prov 25:4)

“I will turn My hand against you, and thoroughly purge away your dross, and take away all your tin.”
(Isaiah 1:25)

“Son of man, the house of Israel has become dross to Me: they are all bronze, tin, iron, and lead,
in the midst of a furnace; they have become dross from silver. As men gather silver, bronze, iron, lead, and tin. Into the midst of a furnace, to blow fire on it, to melt it, so I will gather you in My anger and in My fury, and I will leave you there and melt you.”
(Ezek 22:18+20)

“He is like a refiner's fire, and like launderers’ soap: He will sit as a refiner and a purifier of silver: He will purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer to the LORD an offering in righteousness.”
(Mal 3:2b-3)

“The trial of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the appearing\revelation of Jesus Christ.”
(1 Peter 1:7)

Dear Friends in Christ

If ever there was a time where there was a need for the pure gold of the Gospel, it is now.  Not only in South Africa but all over the world there seems to be a growing confusion concerning Biblical truths that have generally been taken for granted in the past.  There is a crucial need to return to the foundational truths of the Word that seem to be increasingly deserted by those who claim allegiance to the Bible.

Different varieties of dross, some of a very pious nature, have found their way into the Church.  Some of these will be examined and exposed at the Ministers' Conference in March next year.

Deception in the religious world has become increasingly arrogant.  For example, at the beginning of December this year the `Parliament of the World's Religions' will be taking place in Cape Town with the theme “A New Day Dawning - Spiritual Yearnings and Sacred Possibilities”.  Despite the fact that degradation and perversion is fast becoming the norm in society the CPWR (Council for a Parliament of the World's Religions) takes the view that “Today South Africa is undergoing an unprecedented spiritual and societal renewal.  While continuing the long and difficult work of confronting the past, people of good will are shaping a vision of a new century of peace and prosperity in which all might share.”  Light is being called darkness and darkness light as we find in Isaiah 5 verse 20.

Some Christians get caught up in the deceptions of humanist movements like the CPWR but others, while rejecting the CPWR as outright falsehood, find themselves entangled in church fashions which come and go.  We don't need the passing fads that capture the attention of Christians until the next one arrives.  There is a desperate need for the eternal gold which withstands the test of fire and will exist for all time, in this world and in eternities to come.

That is why we would like to invite you to come and examine the truths of the Word expounded by leading men of God prayerfully chosen as speakers.  The next KwaSizabantu Ministers' Conference is planned for 6 - 9 March 2000 and you are invited to attend this eleventh Ministers' Conference.

Some background about the KwaSizabantu Ministers' Conferences:  These conferences are held annually for ministers of the Gospel.  Normally over a thousand pastors and Christian workers attend, not only from South Africa but also from many countries abroad.  They come from many different church backgrounds.  The first service will start on Monday evening 6 March at 7:30 pm and the final session will be on Thursday morning 9 March.  It is especially planned in this way that ministers can be with their congregations over the weekends.

The theme of the conference is,  “Separating dross from the silver and gold”.

The auditorium at KwaSizabantu has more than enough room for you and all those you may wish to invite, whether fellow-preachers, evangelists, church council members or anyone in Christian leadership.  We will update you D.V. in January concerning the speakers and their topics.  A RSVP card will be included with that letter.  Book those dates now on your calendar for next year.

Looking forward to having you here.

Yours in His service
