REMINDER OF MINISTERS' CONFERENCE 2000

Theme: "SEPARATING DROSS FROM THE SILVER AND GOLD"

Dear Friends in Christ

You are heartily invited to the KwaSizabantu Ministers' Conference to be held from 6 - 9 March 2000.  This is the first year of the new millennium and it serves as an opportunity for us to refocus on the true meaning of the Gospel and the way in which it should be presented in the future.  Some are saying that the Gospel is “evolving” and that Christians should not be straightjacketed by pre-millennial conservative thinking.  The theme verse of the Conference is Proverbs 25:4, the emphasis being removal of dross from precious metal.  Some people confuse the chaff and the wheat, the dross and the silver.  At this conference we wish to share and study the Lord's Word together with leading men of God, seeking the mind of Christ for this generation.

Some of the speakers will be:
Dr Benjamin W. Bull Executive Director, The European Centre for Law and Justice
Prof David de Villiers Emeritus Professor of the DRC Theological Seminary, Stellenbosch
Dr Warwick Cole-Edwardes Rector of Holy Trinity Church,
Principal of Trinity Academy, Pietermaritzburg
Rev Charles Guallot Former Director of Trans World Radio France and French speaking countries
Rev Barney Mabaso Director of KwaSizabantu Mission Tugela Ferry
Rev Ernest Mcambi Director of Trans World Radio Zulu Ministries
Dr Wim Rietkerk From the L'Abri Centre in the Netherlands
Bishop Louis Sibiya Bishop of the Evangelical Lutheran Church

Topics to be discussed include:
Faithfulness to the Word of God
Gold or dross in the preaching
A report on the Parliament of the World's Religions Conference
The Aids disaster  -  an opportunity for the Church?
The Church's role in the age of post-modernism

The Church seems to be hazy about its true calling and is often compromising the Word of God to suit the world and its standards.  Please pray with us that God would send forth His light, arm His servants and revive the Church.

The auditorium at KwaSizabantu has more than enough room for you and all those you may wish to invite, whether fellow-preachers, evangelists, church council members or anyone in Christian leadership.  Your participation is important and we ask you to book these dates on your calendar.  The first service will start on Monday evening 6 March at 7:30 pm and the final session will be on Thursday morning 9 March.  It is planned in this way so that ministers can be with their congregations over the weekends.

Please return the RSVP card (postage free) with the names of those who would like to attend (please specify men, women or couples).  Accommodation and food will be provided (please bring your own bedding, if possible).  We will assist in transport to and from Durban airport/station/bus-stop.  Please let us know when and where to fetch you.
You can also reply by phone or fax (see contact details) or make use of our email address <mail@ksb.org.za>.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Yours in His service
