Food At least 1200 people get fed every day at Kwasizabantu. The Lord has abundantly supplied our needs over since the mission began in 1970. No person is required to pay for food or accommodation, and no donations are solicited. The main dining room (see photos above) doubles up as an eating hall and a place for services. Every morning at 10:30 and every evening at 7:00, the tables are removed and the chairs are laid out for meetings. At a squash the hall can seat about 600 for meals, but since there are usually more than that the people stand in queues, outside both doors (see photos above). However, there are a number of other places where food is served. For instance, the school hall feeds about 400 children at every meal; the prayer hospital serves patients in the wards, and employees who work in the fields also have a time and place to eat. The main kitchen can cook for about 2000, but when we have very large crowds, such as for Youth Weeks, then a special kitchen above the auditorium is used. There, food for +8000 is prepared. (see photos). The primitive method of cast iron pots over fire is still used when necessary. (see photos) |
