The mission grows as much of its own food as possible The mission grows as much of its own food as possible. Those in need are sometimes helped with temporary work, but usually the workers are unpaid volunteers. Those who have come for help of various kinds, for example drink and drug problems, also find working in the gardens therapeutic, and they gain skills that can help them when they leave the mission.
