The Heart of
Prayer Jer 29:13
Thats just
it: God is never using half measures when it comes to ask to live. He asked the whole of
his son from Abraham, the whole from His own son Jesus. If you are a believer, know this:
God is someone worth meeting personally. It may still happen to you! With the whole of
you.
The most important
part of all prayers is nothing but its own answer upon it. As the sun without warmth, the
salt without its flavor, the eye of a blind man, water without humidity, so is any prayer
without answer. If you find not, your time in prayer was useless! The answer can never
serve as a sign from God, but it is a sign surely it may come and tell you
something. If a Christian is praying and God is quiet about it, what kind of a fool would
not stop and see if there is perhaps something wrong somewhere? If you are talking to
someone and the person is quiet and still, would you not look up instantly to see whether
that person is dead or not?
Have you ever
talked to anyone over the phone? What if you find yourself talking alone, spending your
money and your precious time, having no feed back upon every word of yours? What would you
do, how will you react to that ever? If you act normally to such a thing, why would you
never inquire upon any absence of answer upon prayers? Is it a matter to be treated so
lightly from you? Will you play the fool and state God will eventually hear, if He is not
hearing now, at that moment? Are you so lighthearted to treat God in such an unreal
manner? You do never treat your dog like that, you would you do it towards your God ever?
Is His opinion, His non-opinion, that important to you, ever?
Even an answer is
not a sure sign God is well pleased with you how bad then at heart, are those who
have no answer at all then! And how bad those who carry on praying and praying over and
over the same thing when nothing happens, and yet they do never read the signs of the
weather above! They carry on praying as if nothing strange has really happened! Even Cain
did get an answer from God, and he had been a murderer! Demons asked the Lord to get into
pigs and they got it from Jesus! Is it so bad going with Christians that even demons can
achieve more from God then they do themselves?
It should be the
most natural thing for any child of God to hear from God Himself, personally! It should be even easier than
breathing, but it is not. Air has oxygen in it, but God is Life (He does not have alone,
for He is) how much easier than should we bear life than breathe! But letīs go to
this verse above.
In the first place,
God says you shall find ME and goes on to emphasize these words with all
thine heart. Let see the first part first. You never may inquire from God but to
find Him alone. He says My reward is WItH ME. Then He says, You shall
find Me.
You have to find
not ask! That is the very heart of all prayers: to be able to find. But, if you
find, you should find God Himself with whatever you ask from Him. If you ever have a
prayer coming to you, but God is not coming along Himself with that reward, then be sure
your answer is worth nothing. It will surely drown with those pigs for the same reason:
God was not with them. Unless God is fully included in the deal, every matter turns to be
useless and worthless. God said to Abraham: Fear
not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward, Gen 15:1. Whenever God is not the reward Himself, personally,
there is no way your prayer should suit you. Jacob did not let go upon God without Him
blessing him personally, even if he had what he came there to ask God for. Will you?
Remember the Lord said You shall find ME.
Secondly,
He says with all thine heart. I could write many books on this subject alone;
but I will not for my hope and plead is that you shall get down on your own knees and
multiply this bread yourself. If you are found praying yet are worried about something,
your whole heart is not in the prayer you set your face before God for. God will regard
you as a hypocrite, a genuine one. If you have a child at his death bed, can you come near
God without having your heart divided in the matter? Will you still look for and find God
alone? Him only?
The
same God that said You shall not commit adultery also said And seek not
ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful (divided) mind.
For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that
ye have need of these things, Luke 12: 2930. You,
double hearted
For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the
Lord. (8) A double minded man is
