WHAT
SHALL WE TEACH PEOPLE ABOUT?
Therefore,
as you go, disciple all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the
Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to obey all that I have commanded you. And remember, I
am with you each and every day until the end of the age." Mat 28:19,20
We nowadays find a
cheap gospel which does not carry Jesus commandment into full obedience, since
people are now told and enticed to accept the Lord Jesus as the end of the
commandment. There is very little to its consistency if we come to be truly comparing it
to the whole of the command of Jesus. In fact, there is very little that matches up to
what Jesus commanded us to carry out. Christianity today is a label, and in Jesus words it
should be an enterprise, a factory of holiness.
Jesus did not tell
people to teach alone, but to teach to obey, to make and turn it possible to obey. To
teach about it all is lacking in a serious complying to what Jesus asked us to carry out
with all readiness. Nevertheless, the cheap gospel of accepting Jesus (of
which we find no grounds in the Bible), does not even teach concerning the things of Jesus
which is too little and despiteful in itself already how much less to teach
to be and to do as Jesus told us to.
Lets return
to the command of our Lord, for we have to sit down and keep our minds from all we have
learned up until today so we may have a deep, solid, honest and independent look into it
ourselves. None will answer for our lives and therefore none but ourselves should ever
search for truth from Jesus own lips for us. What does this command say, what does
it imply?
First of all, we
know Jesus told us to be taught just how to come to obey. We know that through faith we
come to the knowledge and know also faith to be fruit of a genuine relationship to the
Lord Himself. If a wife and a husband do not come together to know each other, there will
never be a child as a fruit from their relationship to put forth. In the same way, if
Jesus and soul do not sleep together, there will never be faith. We know that not all
nights of sleeping together are labeled to bring forth a child and that, therefore, one
should stay sleeping with the Lord until that child or all children are born. the You
might have a picture of one of those children, but never the Faith as a fruit of the
Spirit itself, a real proof of unseen things within your own heart, where none can come to
deny it for you just as a mother knows she is pregnant and has something she
understands and sees not for now, so is the Christian concerning the faith that is so real
unto him. People have to be brought to this relationship first of all. If they are to be
taught how to obey, there has got to be a genuine relationship to the Lord in themselves,
by themselves, without the exterior help of anyone, even if such is Paul or Peter. What
does this have to do with the nowadays doctrine of accepting the Lord? This doctrine makes
people accept whom they are not enabled to see and believe they are fully accepted when
they are not.
There are barriers
of both unconfessed, undealt and unforsaken sin in someones conscience and heart,
which does not allow people to have that kind of relationship. So, the first step to a
real relationship to the Lord Jesus is but the break down that wall of separation between
whoever seeks and Who is sought to be found in a genuine way. People should be told to
believe when they are clean before God, for they CAN believe then. Jesus said If you
CAN believe, anything is possible for anyone who believes, Mar
9:23. Make sure people
can believe before you command them to do so. There you start to teach them, to turn it
possible unto them to obey, to observe and to love and to believe too. To have a
relationship with the Lord, is to be able to believe.
From then on,
everyone should know that a child is not a full grown man and that faith which is a proof
indeed (and none other!) is the means to bring people about to the full knowledge of
Christ, for there is knowledge of Christ which is not full. The commandment is to teach
to observe, (not to teach alone), and we read from Paul that the end of this
commandment is to be when people are naturally loving and believing as breathing might
become to a healthy man. But the end of the commandment is love out of a pure heart,
and a good conscience, and faith unfeigned, 1Tim 1:5.
Once you come to turn it possible for people to believe, love and care naturally, you have
fully fulfilled this command, for it is the very end of it.
