Prize giving 2001 The Domino Servite School prize giving took place on the 1st of December 2001.
The Junior school performed a play of the Toymaker. The toymaker made toys for human children to make them happy. One day the toymaker had a dream. He dreamt that his toys became alive and conspired against him and fled away from him. In their flight they only made life miserable for themselves. He tried to reach out to his toys to help them, but they would have nothing of him. So he decided to become a toy himself and so help them. When they saw that he was a toy, most did not believe him, and they decided that he must be executed. In the execution of the toymaker, they fired a toy-canon at him. This removed the wall that they had built around them to hide from the toymaker. Then the toys were reconciled once again to the toymaker, and they saw that he did not intend evil for them, but good. This story is an allegory of the human race. We were made by God, rebelled against him and tried to hide from Him. In His love and compassion for us, He reached out to us and became a man like us. We rejected Him and executed Him. But in His execution the price that we had to pay was paid by Him, so that we could be reconciled to Him again. The wall of sin is removed in His death on the cross.
