TAS 2002 Report
January 2002 TAS started a new year with approx. 100 students. As a registered Adult
Center, students were registered to write an external KZN Provincial examination. We had 3
English Level courses, as well as Computer courses. Students and staff represented TAS at
the National Literacy day, which was held in Umlazi, Dbn, during September 2002.
We introduced a fabric painting skill, which we would like to continue with as the
students thoroughly enjoyed this activity.
TAS closed on the 28th November 2002 for the holidays.
New expectations are awaiting us for 2003. We would like to implement new learning
areas, such as:
- MLMMS (Numeracy)
- Natural Sciences
- Human & Social Science
- Economic Management & Science
- Life Orientation
- Small Medium & Micro Enterprise
- Agricultural Science
- Auxillary Health Worker
- Tourism
To gain a GETCertificate, which is equivalent to Grade 9, you need to obtain 120
credits. If you are interested in doing our courses, you can contact us at +27 32 481
5991, between 09h00 - 17h00, from the 22nd January 2003. (when TAS reopens, Lord willing).
