After a 12 hour journey, one border post and about 10 roadblocks we arrived safely at
Rakops. The people were very happy and welcomed us warmly. The services started on
Saturday morning through to Monday morning. On Saturday a young convert was baptised, this
was quite interesting as this is a semi-desert area where the river last flowed in 1989. A
hole was dug, lined with plastic sheeting and filled with water, the hole being only big
enough for the young man to fit into and be immersed. However, the young man named Victor
was very happy to make a public confession of having died with Christ and being risen with
Him in newness of life.
On Sunday we celebrated the Lord's Supper with the congregation there and we thanked the
Lord for His great salvation. The small congregation is growing steadily and need to be
remembered in prayer as witchcraft and the occult are prevalent in that area.
We returned to South Africa on Monday evening and were kept by the Grace of God.
