"We will all appear before God" - Erlo Stegen
Isaiah 1:19 &
20

Isaiah 1:19-20 "If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land:
But if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of the LORD
hath spoken it."
The Lord has spoken to you through His servants. If you do what you have been told, you
will live, but if you rebel and be disobedient, you will be destroyed. Violence results
from disobedience to God's Word. God hears every word you whisper, every thought you
think. Even if you are active in the church, it will not help anything, unless you have a
living relationship with Jesus Christ. If you are not in Him and He in you, woe to you.
There was a certain pastor who had a terrible dream one night. In the morning his wife
noticed that he was troubled, but he tried to hide it from her. Eventually he told her the
dream. He dreamt that he stood before the Great White Throne of God Almighty. The Lord
asked him where his church members and family were. As he looked to his left he saw them
all in one long line walking towards a bottomless pit. His wife and children were in that
line as well. As they fell down, their cry was bitter and stung his heart. He remembered
those that made a mock at sin, flirted around with the opposite sex, slept in church, and
lived a lukewarm Christian life. He saw all these things in his church and family, but did
not deal with them thoroughly. Then the Lord said to him, "You, join the queue
now". As he said these words to his wife, he fell over backwards on his bed and died.
John Harper came from a Christian family and met the Lord when he was only thirteen
years old, in 1886. He lived an upright, pure life and loved the Lord. When he was 17, he
started to preach. His heart was on fire for God and shortly there were 500 members in his
congregation. In 1912 he and his daughter of 6 were of those that boarded the Titanic on
its launch. His wife had passed away shortly after giving birth to his daughter. When the
Titanic hit the iceberg and started to sink, he placed his daughter in one of the
life-boats to be taken care of. He ran to the front of the ship with his life-jacket on,
and cried, "All women, children and the unsaved, please go to the life-boats".
Shortly afterwards the gigantic ship broke into two, and the people started to jump
overboard. He jumped overboard as well and swam from person to person, asking them if they
are saved and if not, led them to the Lord. He came to a young man on a piece of floating
debris and asked him about his salvation, to which the man replied that he was not
interested. John Harper then took off his life-jacket and threw it to the man, saying,
"Then you are not ready to die; I am ready." This act brought the young man to
repentance. Later he told the story of how he got saved through John Walter's heroism. All
together 1528 jumped, of which only 6 were saved by life-boats, this young man being one.
Such are the lives of those that truly know the Lord. They lay down their lives for
their fellowmen. Those that are saved have a passionate zeal for the unsaved.
What will your future be like? When you stand before the Judgment Throne of Christ, you
will have to give account for yourself - also for this message you have heard today. God
has no pleasure therein that the wicked should die but that they may come to repentance
and live. God's invitation today is that you may obey and live, Isaiah 1:19-20 "If ye
be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land: But if ye refuse and rebel, ye
shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it."
(At the end of the service approx 1000 - 1500 responded to an altar call.)

Testimony service
One young man gave a touching testimony of how God helped him during the Youth
Conferences at KwaSizabantu since 1997. He grew up in the church, and his father taught
him the ways of God. He served in the church, but was a complete hypocrite. He would lead
the singing in the church, but flirt with the girls, smoke secretly and commit all kinds
of sins. His sins lead him to a conflict with another person, where he eventually got shot
in such a way that he was confined to a wheel-chair. While he planned revenge in 1997, he
tuned into Radio Khwezi, where a certain story gripped him and he heard about the Youth
Conference at KwaSizabantu. He decided to come, and right from the first day he began to
make his life right with God, confessing his sins. God worked in his life, and revealed
him all his sins since his youth. He wrote everything down and brought it to the light.
All his plans of revenge changed and he prayed for the man that shot him. God heard his
prayer, and that man made peace with him, asking forgiveness for what he had done.

"Pure in heart" - Joseph Chauke
Mt 5:8
Sin is in the heart of man. And the heart is deceitful above all things.
The different things that defile the heart of man is depicted by different animals:
- The peacock: Resembles pride. A proud person will resist the Word of God even if he is
pricked in his heart by it. You must humble yourself to enter heaven
- The dog: A spirit of flirting and immorality. People of all ages who cannot say
"No"
- The pig: The sin of drunkenness. Young children, boys and girls, are abusing alcohol
these days. Drug abuse is a problem amongst school children. The youth of today is suppose
to be the future leaders of South Africa and even Africa. But what kind of leader will you
be if you abuse drugs and alcohol?
- The tortoise: Depicts laziness. Some are lazy to read Gods Word, or go to church.
But the same people are first in line when it comes to the pleasures and invitations of
the world. The tortoise also resembles thieving and stealing
- The leopard: It is a violent and angry spirit that wants to hurt people and is seeking
bloodshed. A story was related of an angry young man that came home late one night after
being to a disco, drunk from alcohol. After his father confronted his violent and
rebellious behaviour he stabbed and killed his own father with a long dagger. And abortion
is considered as the murder of innocent babies by God, even if it is legal according to
the government.
- The snake: The sin of lies. Some people cause friction by their words. They instigate
and cause fighting with their tongue. The same tongue that sings piously at church swears
and curses at school.
- The frog: The love of money. Judas sold Jesus for money. Many girls are prostitutes and
sell their bodies because of the love of money. A frog jumps around. Now its in the
water, then on dry land. Some Christians are also known for jumping around. Today they are
in the church; tomorrow they jump to the things of the world.
The problem lies in the heart. God extends an invitation to come to Him and He will
wash the heart and purify it of all sin. The Blood that was shed at the Cross will cleanse
your heart. (1 John 1:7; Hebrews 9:14) Jesus stands at the door and knocks (Rev 3:20). How
will you respond to His knocking? Even David, the great king of Israel saw the need for a
cleansed heart (Psalm 51:10). People came to bow before him, but he realised that he had
to bow before God.
Our lives are very short here on earth; therefore make right your life with God. Come
to the One Who says: "Come, let us reason together". "Blessed are the pure
in heart, for they will see God".
