July 2004 Youth Conference (A brief summary of the play performed by TLW-Smithfield) Sue and Wendy were classmates. Sue was a Christian and she urged her classmates to live pure lives, but they thought it was a big joke. One day a TLW-team visited the school, but still the class ignored the message of purity. Sue realised that something was troubling Wendy and she asked her about it. At first she was very rude, but then apologised and admitted that she had fallen pregnant. Her father and boyfriend wanted her to have an abortion. Sue spoke to her about Christ and His love and forgiveness. Wendy gave her life to the Lord and decided to keep the baby. When her boyfriend heard it, he was mad at Sue and, in a moment of fury, shot her and killed her. He was jailed for his crime. The death of Sue was such a shock to the rest of the class, that many of them decided to change their lives and start a TLW at their school. After the play, a talk about abstinence was given by Jerusha Olsen and an invitation given to young people to sign a pledge. The invitation was also extended to those who have lost their virginity or might already be HIV positive. God gives us another chance by cleansing us from past sin and putting us on the road of purity. |
