Youth week 30 June - 7 July 2006
"Escape for your life" Gen 19:17
Text summary of sermon by Rev Joseph Chauke, 4 July 2006, 19:00
Two special guests attended the service and addressed the young people.
The first was mr Kgamphe, the Secretary General, National Commission for UNESCO, South
Africa (see this link for more info on him). He related how the UN was formed at the
end of WWII to "declare war on war" - their aim being to eradicate war in the
world. Mr Kgamphe, being a Christian himself, stressed that war cannot be ended unless it
is dealt with in the heart of man, since that is where war begins.
The second guest was the honourable dr Buthelezi. He stressed that there are over 5
million people living with HIV in South Africa ( and almost a 1000 deaths each day; see
this link for stats
). Two of his own children have died because of AIDS related causes. The only way to stop
this disease is that people, and especially young people, return to proper Biblical moral
values.
Rev Joseph Chauke preached from Ps 24:7-10, "Lift up your
heads, O you gates! And be lifted up, you everlasting doors! And the King of glory shall
come in. 8 Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, The LORD mighty in
battle. 9 Lift up your heads, O you gates! Lift up, you everlasting doors! And the King of
glory shall come in. 10 Who is this King of glory? The LORD of hosts, He is the King of
glory. Selah"
When the King of Glory has entered into your life, it will be
obvious for everyone to see. There are many people in church whom the Lord doesn't know -
He has never entered into their lives.
Jesus is light. When He enters He washes and cleanses your heart
from sin.
If you want to conquer spiritually, stay close to the Lord Jesus,
and do not let sin enter into your life. Meditate on God's Word.
