YOUTH WEEK - DECEMBER 2000
MONDAY 11 December

Between five and six thousand young people sat attentively as the
Word of God was expounded from 1 Kings 13:2, 2 Kings 22:1. The marvelous prophecy about
the coming of Josiah and his judgment upon false gods is a proof of the authenticity of
God's Word, for 360 years later King Josiah was born and fulfilled in detail the Word of
the Lord. The Bible is not a "white man's book" but God's book for all mankind.
Rev Stegen referred to the youth of Josiah who, even though he was only 8 years old,
pleased God and "did not turn to the right or the left."
An appeal was made for the children to come forward and cry to the Lord Jesus Christ
for grace to repent and follow in the way of Josiah. There was a huge response and it was
a moving experience to hear a thousand or more children and young adults speaking out to
Jesus, confessing their sins and pleading for grace.
QUESTIONS AND PRIZES
At most services there is a time of questions for the different age groups and prizes
are handed out to those who answer correctly. The questions have to do with previous
services and are an encouragement for them to listen. There are various prizes but the
most treasured one is a Bible. A number of Bibles are handed out during the conference.
The afternoon service was a short devotion, an explanation about the dangers of Pokemon , and a
time of open questions and answers.
This evening was a presentation by TNT, The Naked Truth About Drugs and Alcohol.
