YOUTH WEEK - DECEMBER 2000

Thursday 14 December

Because of the huge task of transporting so many thousands of young people, many of whom are from other provinces, it has been necessary to start early with taking them home. Over the last 48 hours a number of buses have been taking those children who stay the furthest away.

One group from Botswana will be leaving with their leader, John Walters, and will spend about 3 days travelling.

This morning's service was taken by Rev J. Chauke from Pretoria. His theme was the taken from Prov 23: 26: "My son, give me your heart and let your eyes keep to my ways." He emphasised the trouble is in the heart. He used the the `Heart of Man' posters to illustrates the seven sins found in the heart (Prov 26: 25).

The afternoon was a continuation of the morning theme. Rev Chauke spoke from 1Cor 6: 19 and used the `Heart of Man' posters to illustrate the theme. He invited people to bring their hearts to Jesus.

In the evening service Rev Stegen continued with the Matt 7:13 theme of the night before, "Enter the narrow gate."

About half a ton of literature (tracts and Bible study booklets and magazines) was handed out to the young people as they went through the doors. Our thanks to the `Christian Literature' organisation of Dr W. Bohlman.
