Day One of KSB June 2000 Youth Conference (see photos)
(4:40pm)
There are over 2000 children who have arrived since yesterday (16:40pm). Right now
they are arriving in droves, by lorry, bus, taxi and private cars. Some walk from
surrounding areas. The transport department reports that about 500 children registered to
come from Nelspruit (Empumalanga Province). Many had to be left behind. The bus and lorry
drivers tell us that wherever they fetch children there are so many that some have to be
left behind. This causes great disappointment because these children have often traveled
some distance to get to the collection point and have been standing there with their
luggage for hours until the vehicles arrive. The children know that it is unlikely that
another vehicle can come and fetch them as they must immediately travel to other places.
Some of these children are desperate enough to arrange taxis (if they can afford it) to
bring them to the mission.
Two thousand or more are expected to arrive through the night and many more
tomorrow.
Although two services have already been held the first official service will be
tonight in the auditorium.

(9:20pm)
Tonight's service was taken by Rev Erlo Stegen. He preached on Mark 14: 3, concerning
the woman who expressed her love for Jesus by pouring costly perfume upon Him. Why did she
behave in this way? How did she dare interrupt a formal feast and break right through all
protocol in someone else's home? Jesus had forgiven her much and so she loved much. The
men, even the Lord's disciples, were indignant and regarded the whole affair as a waste of
money. But Jesus rebuked their harsh criticism and commended the woman. The question was
asked: "Do you really love Jesus with all your heart?" Then you will surrender
all to Him.
There are almost 5,000 children and teenagers in the audience already and hundreds
more are expected through the night.
Thank you for your prayer support!
