Malelane September 2004
30 September to 3 October 2004
The Youth Conference at the Kwasizabantu mission in Malelane has been wonderfully
blessed and has had the best attendance since they began a year ago. About100 co-workers
and other volunteers were hard at work at the 4-day Youth Conference. Reports are that
many young people turned to the Lord and came for counselling.
Besides the main food, the children ate 100 loaves of bread a day. The local (chief)
Inkosi Shongwe, gave a moving speech before Rev J. Newlands preached on Sunday morning.
Inkosi Shongwe, who is a committed Christian, pointed out that if people keep on serving
ancestors they won't be blessed. Obedience to God and His Word brings blessing, he
said. He acknowledged the fact that the Gospel brought by missionaries from 19th century
brought peace to the whole region and that is why there is no longer intertribal war.
