Malelane Youth Weekend 25
to 29 September 2008

(a brief report by John Powys)
We started with a team of seven co-workers from KSB together with missionaries from
Malelane visiting schools daily in preparation for the conference. Already during these
visits the Lord was working, at one school the staff requested prayer and the team
returned to the school after hours to give them an opportunity to make peace with God. On
the first day of the services we had many young people, about 500 came from far and had to
be accomodated, some even slept in chicken houses but no one complained. We were amazed at
the eagerness of the youth to listen to the Word of God. However, positive response only
came on Sunday afternoon when many came to seek counsel and prayer. On Monday we didn't
expect many for the closing service but to our amazement we had to send out more transport
to bring them in. The Word was sown and watered abundantly and we trust the Lord for an
abundant harvest.
(Previously: Since our Malelane Mission outpost is so far
away (about 800km) we try to go to them instead of transporting them here for the Youth
Conferences. About 40 or more co-workers and volunteers (including some from the college
and school) have left at 4:30 this morning to set up a tent and the catering facilities.
Usually, huge numbers of children and teens attend these meetings. Please pray for the
Lord to do mighty things to glorify His Name.)
