| Team to USA - June 2003

Dr Albu van Eeden and John Powys left 9 June 2003 for Tulsa, USA for 2 weeks of
services. They returned 24 June. The following is a brief report by John. (see photos here)
We started in Tulsa with the group of Russian brethren
with whom we have over the last few years built up a good relationship. From the
second day we had informal gatherings at the home of Paul Selykov where we shared the Word
of God with them and answered many deep questions. On Thursday the 12th we started the
camp at Tulakogee Baptist campsite. Some people came from California and Minnesota, but
the most were from the Tulsa congregation. The response was good and we saw definite
spiritual growth amongst the children of the Lord. Pastor Bob Green of the Arrow Heights
Baptist Church heard of our visit in Tulsa and needing to go to the Southern Baptist
Convention he asked us to take both Sunday services in his Church, this was a wonderful
opportunity and people were deeply touched and wanted to know how they could get involved
in the work here in Africa.
The second leg of the trip took us to St Louis
Missouri to the Slavic Baptists.
In this city the services were well attended
with many young people attending. A deep hunger for the truth exists amongst the people.
We had a meeting with the leadership of three Baptist churches where many questions were
asked pertaining to living a Spirit filled, victorious life in this present generation.
There was great joy after this meeting and it was evident that the Lord had worked and His
name was glorified.
