Services in Wales and England

John and Sharon Lilford-Powys, co-workers from Kwasizabantu
Mission, are in Britain from 14 to 28 October 2004 to take services in South Wales and
Northern England.
Report on 22nd Oct: We just
returned tonight from Lancaster where we had a blessed service with Rev Helga Cornell, she
visited KSB a while back. She is the minister of the URC church in the area. There was a
good turnout of different churches and the response was positive, I think we will get a
good number from there to the conference next year. Just to recap on Wales, the situation
there is desparate. Churches are closing, the average Evangelical church has 15 to 35
members. One church has not one wage earner in the congregation because of unemployment
due to closure of the collieries. However, God has preserved Himself a remnant and we met
with wonderful brethren who sincerely seek a fresh outpouring of the Spirit. Tomorrow,
Saturday, we go to Dr Anne down in Hastings for meetings with some interested people and
then we will take the morning service there and afterward travel back about 3 and a half
hours to Swindon to take the evening service in the Evangelical church. I trust the Orange
farm outreach is going well, thinking much of it in prayer. Greetings to all, John and
Sharon.
Report on 19th Oct: Our first
service was on Sunday in Pentrebach Merthyr area in a Church called Jerusalem Baptist, the
morning service and evening were there. I spoke about the revival in the morning and a
personal testimony in the evening. Last night was in Maerdy in Seion Church, there was a
good turnout and people were touched by the story of the revival and that there is hope
for Wales which has fallen into darkness and occultism like few other countries.
Witchcraft is the fastest growing religion here, 60% of the people have not heard of Jesus
Christ, they only know His name as a curse word. Tonight we will be at Mountain Ash in
another valley nearby. Tomorrow we go back to Marlborough in England. We go to Lancaster
in North England on Thursday. from, John and Sharon.
The first service is on Sunday
17 October at Jerusalem, Penrhiwceiber morning and evening.
Then, a joint meeting between Seion,
Maerdy, Carmel and Blaenllechau
The next service is a joint meeting on
19 October between Cwmdare Mission, Aberdare & Bryngolwg Mission, Mountain Ash. (These
places are all in south Wales in the Rhondda area).
Then, they go to the north of England in
Lancaster with Rev Helga.
At the end of the tour John and Sharon
will join Dr Anne Hyams where there will be various meetings in the Hastings/Bexhill area.
The return to South Africa on 28
October, the Lord willing.
Thank you for your prayer support.
