1. Be willing to confess your sins to trustworthy people who are willing to pray with and
for you. James wrote, "Confess your sins to one another, pray for them and you will
be healed." (James 5:16) Confession, to Godly people is good for the soul. 2.
Appropriate the cleansing power of Christ's atonement to all aspects of your feelings. Dr.
Luke wrote, "In this man, Jesus, there is forgiveness for your sins! Everyone who
trusts in Him is freed from all guilt and declared righteous." (Acts 13:38,39) The
greater you faith the more you will experience a clean conscience.
3. Comprehend the completeness of God's forgiveness. David wrote, "As far as
the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us." (Psa.
103 :12) Begin to appreciate the fresh start He empowers you with every morning.
4.Ask the Lord for help in transforming your thinking to perceive and react as
Jesus would. Isaiah wrote, "Let the wicked forsake his way and the unrighteous man
his thoughts. Let him return to the Lord and he will have mercy on him and to our God for
he will abundantly pardon?" Isa. 55:7 Clean thinking produces powerful living.
5. Take advantage of the Lord's gracious mercies and restorative powers. Samuel
wrote, "For the Lord your God is gracious and merciful. He will not turn away His
face from you, if you return to Him." (2 Chron. 30:9) He restores and renews.
6. Even if you have difficulties forgiving yourself, remember God power is greater
than your own. John wrote, "For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our
heart, and knows all things." (I Jn. 3 :20) His standards are higher than our own.
7. Remember that you possess a new spiritual nature empowered by the resident Holy
Spirit. Paul wrote, "Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature. Old
things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." (2 Cor. 5:17)
8. Walk in a way that pleases the Lord in all respects and you will experience the
power of His cleansing. John wrote, "But if we walk in the light, as He is in the
light, we have fellowship one with another and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses
us from all sin." (I Jn 1:7) Be doers of the word and experience His joy.
9. Know that no one's accusations, even the devil's, cannot stand up to the fact
God has exonerated you from all guilt. Paul wrote, "Who dares accuse us whom God has
chosen for His own? Will God? No! He is the one who has forgiven us and given us right
standing with Himself." (Rom. 8:33) He is our advocate.
10. Thank God that He buries all our sin and guilt in the deepest seas. The Lord
said, "I will forgive their iniquity and I will remember their sin no more."
(Jer. 31:34)
11.Thank God that He not only forgives, but he heals all your pain and guilt.
David wrote, "He forgives all my sins. He heals me." (Psa. 103:3)
12.Give praise to God for the miracle of His cleansing us from all guilt, shame
and reproach. The Lord said, "No matter how deep the stain of your sins, I can take
it out and make you as clean as freshly fallen snow. Even if you are stained as red as
crimson, I can make you white as wool." (Isa. 1:18)
13.Express your happiness, thankfulness and joy to those you come in contact with
everyday. David wrote, "What happiness for those who guilt has been forgiven! What
joys when sins are covered over! What relief for those who have confessed their sins and
God has cleared their record." (Psa. 32:1,2) |
