Romans 11:22 "Notice
therefore the kindness and severity of God - severity toward those who have fallen, but
God's kindness toward you, provided you continue in his kindness"
His kindness and His His severity are two sides of the same coin. The love of God can
never be held in seperation from His severity. Should you have love without God's
righteousness, or righteousness without God's love, then it is deception and not of God.
2 Timothy 2:19 - "Nevertheless, the foundation of God standeth sure, having this
seal, The Lord knoweth them that are His. And, Let every one that nameth the name of
Christ depart from iniquity."
Romans 6:1 - "What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may
abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?"
Inherent in God's grace is His severity to sin!
Titus 2:11,12 - "For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all
men. Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly,
righteously, and godly, in this present world."
God's grace brings salvation from sin. It is this grace, that once it enters a person,
teaches and instructs them to walk soberly and righteously, denying the lusts of the
world.
How can it be that you have God's love abiding in you, and yet you are deteriorating in
righteousness and holding onto sin?
The grace of God, through our Lord Jesus Christ, saves a person from
his sin and doesn't leave a person remaining in it.
