Titus 3:3-7, "3 For we ourselves were also once
foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving various lusts and pleasures, living in malice and
envy, hateful and hating one another. 4 But when the kindness and the love of God our
Savior toward man appeared, 5 not by works of righteousness which we have done, but
according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of
the Holy Spirit, 6 whom He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior, 7
that having been justified by His grace we should become heirs according to the hope of
eternal life."
Salvation is not by education but by revelation. Education does
not fundamentally change a person.
No one came to Jesus at His birth because they were clever or
intelligent enough to do so. They all came because the mystery of their Saviour's birth
was revealed to them. Should the angels not have appeared unto the shepherds they would
not have come; neither would the wise men have come had they not seen the star.
Faith comes by hearing the Word of God. However if you are
disobedient to the truth God speaks to you, hearing His truth profits you nothing. When
the wise men enquired where the Christ was to be born, the scribes and pharisees told them
correctly that it was in Bethlehem, as it is written, "But you, Bethlehem
Ephrathah, though you are little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of you shall come
forth to Me The One to be Ruler in Israel, Whose goings forth are from of old, from
everlasting. (Micah 5:2). They knew God's Word but did not go
to worship the Child, because His birth was not revealed to them.
Our text speaks about our condition before Jesus Christ was
revealed to us. There is no darkness as the darkness of not knowing Jesus Christ. Every
nation without the revelation of Jesus Christ is in a darkness so thick that it is
tangible.
Today so-called Christian nations in the West are returning to
paganism. Sexual promiscuity is becoming the norm, and everyone is doing what they like. A
pagan heart is also the individualist who cannot be told by anyone what to do. People who
call themselves Christians frequent bars, nightclubs and prostitute themselves. They
blaspheme the Name of Christ by their works. Some have even testified to what Jesus had
done in their lives, but today they live promiscuously and love the world and its
fashions.
Such are bastards, reprobates and not Christians. They still need
to truly meet with Jesus Christ, for they don't know Him.
May you be transformed when you hear God's Word. Don't gamble with
God's Word, for it is too holy.
May the Word of God be preached throughout the world and change
lives, so that grudges, hatred, gossip and the works of satan come to an end.
